Promises Promises: Tate and Violet on American Horror Story

American Horror Story is one of the only shows currently on television where every week, when the credits roll, I think, "Wow! Already?" Last night's episode was no exception. Tate's first scene included the totally creepy (and maybe a little sexy...) blood sucking.

These kids are getting obsessed with each other and it's great. Like Angelina Jolie/Billy Bob Thornton obsessed (did I just date myself?) Tate has already gone all the way down the obsession drain. He essentially told Violet that heaven is wherever she is. Aww. Violet is more difficult to read. She's working pretty hard not to spill the you're-a-ghost beans (those are my FAVORITE variety of bean!) but Tate's heading there, on his own. He brought up the ghost question last night, unprovoked.

Then Violet got to meet Tate's brother. Again, aww. I smell a family Thanksgiving! Man, did she jump into his arms when she was freaked out! I guess in a house full of fairly unpleasant looking ghosts, I'd jump into Tate's arms too.

Violet has fully accepted Tate. She resisted the temptation to just tell him what he is. She promised to stop cutting because he asked her to. She finds comfort in him, and she's asking her mom questions like, "How do you know when you're in love?"

Tate, on the other hand, is clearly a jumbled mess. He doesn't question any of the logic issues he must experience. Like why he can't leave the house. Or why Violet lives in his room. Or  why he hasn't aged, or what year it is. He's totally jacked up - but he (oh so angstily) finds solace in Violet. I can't help but love them, even though I'm well aware they won't, you know, get married and have babies and buy a mini-van. Or maybe they will. Who knows. Ryan Murphy likes his surprises. And his mini-vans. "Mommy? Why is daddy still 17?"

On a different note, I'm a little worried about the fact that Tate told Violet how to get rid of ghosts. I have a feeling, one of these days, Tate's going to do something to freak Violet out and she's going to tell him to go away. Hopefully, if that happens, she can just call him back again when she wants.

I have about a zillion screen-caps but it seemed lame to post twenty-five pictures at once. I'll have more later on Tate and his relationship with Constance. OH! And that preview for next week! Shirtless Tate in bed! Yes, please.

  1. Shirtless Tate?! I might actually pass out.

The blood sucking scene was totally sexy and creepy - thanks for the screen grab! I love that combination in him. : )

Looking forward to more of his back story and what happened (in the house?) to drive him to the shooting.
